History

In 1930, The W. Evans Company was founded, selling industrial paper, office supplies and packaging material. After some time, the company became more focused on commercial adhesives (pressure-sensitive) materials, packaging products and packaging systems. Because the demand for adhesive tape became so great, a new company emerged as the EVCO Tape Company in 1985 as a subsidiary of The W. Evans Company, with a mandate of only converting and fabricating industrial pressure-sensitive tapes and related materials.

While all was good with EVCO, Evans was evolving into a full-line distributor and service center for commercial packaging products and systems. Because the two companies could essentially market to the same industries, it made sense from a marketing perspective to merge the names. And that's how the Evans/EVCO you know was born.
